This is a letter of support for Jessi Rae Fournier, entrepreneur, author and donor to various local charitable organizations. In the fall of 2014 Jessi was opening her Shop J’Adore Fine Cheese and Chocolate in downtown Barrie. She had just authored her first children’s book and was looking for a local children’s charity to donate 100% of the proceeds of the book. Jessi approached Candlelighters Simcoe to be the recipient of her first book. This was the first of many fundraisers she initiated to support local families of children with cancer.
Jessi has become an ambassador for our organization, supporting us in many ways: raffles at her shop, attending our 25-year gala, paddling for our dragon boat team “Candlelighters Courageous Cancer Kids” in 2016 and this year she is one of our dragon boat sponsors. She also donated 100% of the proceeds from her second children’s book, to Candlelighters Simcoe.
Jessi is a kind, compassionate young woman who values her community by giving back to local charities. We cherish the bond she has formed with our charity and are forever grateful for her ongoing support of families of children with cancer. She is truly an angel in our community.

"I love books that have a refrain "Findlay No, Findlay Yes"! Children enjoy listening to stories that encourage their active participation. This book is perfect for reading aloud to kids and for sharing as a bedtime story, over and over again. Children learn to read by hearing familiar stories frequently and by being involved in the process.
Findlay No portrays several messages that can be explored in follow up discussion. Reflection on the benefits of working together, respecting one another, spending quality time together as a family and the importance of showing "a little love.." are worthwhile lessons.
